Hi my name is Lyn Edmonds and I will
try to tell you a little something about myself.
I began exhibiting Poodles in 1969 with much success
in all three varieties after giving up my career in
horses as my then husband who is still a great
friend felt it was too dangerous and as I had 2
wonderful sons to care for I agreed and pursued a
safer career.
My sons Anthony and David have enjoyed growing up
with our dogs and both are happily married and have
3 dogs of there own ,Anthony lives in Pt Lincoln and
has a very successful business and David is in the
Mounted Police and I am very proud of both of them
and have two wonderful grandchildren.
My dogs have always been a part of my family and
live in the family home as I could never cope with a
kennel situation, which is one reason why I have not
bred a lot of dogs in my Prefix.
I have a very close association with Westpriors and
have been fortunate enough to have had some super
dogs to show and breed with Jean & Graham &Caron
Missen in recent years and I thank them for the
great friends they are to me and we have some very
exciting plans for the future.
I also am very lucky to have my dear friend John
Edwards to work with and plan for the future.
I enjoy showing my poodles and my Bichon and cant
imagine living without them and over the years have
been very fortunate to have made some lifelong
friends, Greg Ross in particular, we have been close
since we met in the early 70s and he has always been
there for me.
I have a very successful Grooming Business at home
after selling my salon years ago and winding it down
to suit me so as I can spend more time with my other
love which is gardening and the dogs and I spend
many hours together outside.
I also love to walk and we are up early and all my
dogs go walking daily and even the oldies go when
the younger ones get home and they love it and I
believe it gives them a purpose in life.
I am currently campaigning my friends dog Aust Ch
Elire In Vogue and we won Reserve Ch at Adelaide and
Melbourne royal and also have a baby from Jazz and
Furby called Ebony who won baby in show at her 1st
show under Bob Curtis so we are looking forward to
the future.
At the Poodle National 2003 I was lucky enough to
win Bitch Ch with Aust Ch Coifico First Lady who was
on lease to me , Reserve Bitch with Aust Ch
Westpriors Black Prelude and Junior Bitch with Aust
Ch Elire Southern Star what a thrill to show all 3
of my girls and have them all on the pegs, only
trouble was they all wanted me to handle them and I
had to do some swapping around but we got there
thanks to Caron and Peggy and Pat.
Well enjoy your dogs and remember to always find the
good points no matter whose dog it is, no dog is
perfect so make the best of them, and don't get
caught up in all the trivia that goes with showing
its really not worth losing sleep over, be positive
and not negative and you will enjoy it so much more
as I do.
